One summer we talked about our home decor and how it expressed our personalities. We challenged each other to define our styles in 6 words or less.

Now it is time to share our personal styles with you! Jessica calls her style "Eclectic Retro", an apt name indeed for a hip collection of memories expressed so beautifully. She would tell you most of her treasures came from abode!!

knitting and kintting and knitting . . .

As the weather suddenly changed from sweat to swell, the urge to knit is irrepressible. I love to curl up in front of a good movie (or even a not-so-good one) and knit for hours. The fact that I rarely get to do that is a testament to the black wool scarf I have been knitting for my beloved since we were first friends. My thought was to knit with good wool and then felt, but alas, to felt and be left with a result bigger than a band-aid you have to quadruple the size of your project - ah, well, it will look grand with his snow-white hair someday.

Why this silly diatribe, you might ask? This piece inspired me as the perfect place to hide your knitting when the Queen comes to call! $40 is the perfect price for a knitter's dream and perhaps you will finish your projects much faster than I.

I hope you had a chance to browse the avenues street fair - we had a booth and it was a day of fun meeting new people and hugging old friends! Cathie made this adorable banner and we sold sold sold!

Put the street fair on your calendar for next year - it is miles of cool stuff, food and unlimited people and dog watching!

I want candy!!!!

Remember candy? Remember the days when you could get sticky and gooey and you biggest worry was how short your mom was going to have to cut your hair to even it up to match the chunk she had to cut out because you fell asleep with GUM IN YOUR MOUTH!!!!? Remember when strangers weren't strangers if they had candy? And the sure-fire remedy for that icky coating on your teeth from eating too much candy was more candy?

Remember the days when Red Dye #2 sounded like someone who needed more sleep and to use the toilet?

And the worst thing that could happen is for you to drop your sucker on the carpet - dipping dipping dipping it in a cup of water to get the hair off so you could eat the rest.

Remember when dad would only give you a half stick of Wrigley's?

Craft Lake City "sniff"

Look at the joy as Cathie Cox and I browse Craft Lake City at the Gallivan Center! I had mixed feelings because I loved seeing what was there and making connections with the hip and happenin' artisans, (some of which will be at our last MARKET of the season on September 19th) and yet the bitter taste of REJECTION! I applied to be a vendor and it appears I am not quite hip and happenin' enough for the event. Yes, you may stamp a huge DENIED across my forehead.

Actually, I am quite thrilled to go and enjoy the evening, I'm a hearty soul, you know!
