Was the Mayan Lyin'?
From an abode lover Christy Hawks . . .
So the world is supposed to be ending today huh? That's bad.
I never found out who let the dogs out, the way to get to Sesame Street, why Dora doesn't just use Google maps, why we don't ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery", why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed, why "abbreviated" is such a long word, why lemon juice is made with artificial flavor yet dish-washing liquid is made with real lemons, why they sterilize the needle for lethal injections, why do you have to "put your two cents in" but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to? Why did Joanie love Chachi? If a deaf person has to go to court is it still called a hearing? Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane? Does the alphabet song and twinkle twinkle little star have the same tune? Why did you just try to sing those two previous songs? And just what is Victoria's secret?
You see, the world just has to keep going. I have too many questions...

Mystery Mister, let me count the ways
Quick trip to San Fran and a dash to Haight Ashbury on the side, and holy fezs and feathers I'm in love AND lust! I might have to sneak a fez and a creep a liscious doll when the warden isn't looking.

Dear new abode paris flea market
I love you. There, I said it. I thought I loved you before your extreme makeover but I realize this new love is a mature love, a grown up love, yep, I'm just that shallow.
The old abode was bright and obvious, while you, my darling are subtle, smoky and lingering like an early autumn bonfire
Whenever I see you I want to stay
you comfort me

H2O no!
Glenn sends his son, Evan to bed. Five minutes later, Evan screams downstairs, “Dad! Can you get me a glass of water?” Glenn says, “No. You had your chance.”
After a minute Evan screams again, “Dad! Can you get me a glass of water?” Glenn says, “No. I told you, you had your chance. If you ask one more time, I’ll come up there and spank you.”
After a short silence, the father hears, “Dad! When you come up to spank me, can you bring me a glass or water?”
We're drowning here at our new location - roof leaks abound. We are madly curating around the lakes and it's looking fantastic!
Our artisan fair "made in the 801" will be pushed to December 1st to allow us to dry out. We hope to be open this Saturday for your shopping enjoyment.
Look forward to seeing you and to you seeing us!

Message in a bottle
![]() |
I distinctly recall the eye staring back at me as the accordion partition closed each afternoon. It was a soft blue with a large black pupil and I would get out of the bed and pad around the room ducking up and down as the eye followed me. "Go to sleep", said Mrs. Michelle as she tapped her broom on the bottom step. I sat on the bed and watched the particles rise, swim and settle. Eventually, I would sleep and when I woke Uva would be sitting on the other bed, shoes off, all arms, legs and perspiration. He would tousle my hair and tell me not to touch the eye, "it's real, you know, from a deer my dad shot".
I would think about the one-eyed deer and wonder if he wore a patch over his eye like me.
