remember that day when I went on and on about SPARK?  remember how excited we were to loan them some of our treasures and that we were invited to their soiree? remember that?  well, here is the reason (see if you can spot the abode goodies)!

Loss

I just heard Fresh Air's interview with Jonathan Franzen about his new work 'Freedom'. He reflected on his personal loss of his friend David Foster Wallace, and how differently the death of a contemporary feels than a parent.

Isn't it interesting how thoughts of loved ones who are gone appear at the most random times?  I think of my friend Susan who has been gone since 1989,  there I sit listening to NPR and here she is in my thoughts.  Memory and longing can be funny, grand and mysterious.
