I dream that one day I would have a real-life designer come into my life and breathe new life into my funny old house.  Freshen up the colors, make it look more spacious by moving the sad old sofas and drench us in the hot hip colors.  Our house will be so divine we will squabble no more, look perfect when we wake and be able to abide our funny old house for many more years to come! 

(sigh) it is a dream for now but when I look at Kirsten Krason's inspirational design ideas at 6th Street Design School I see a dream into action!  She is fresh, brave and thoughtful in her style - you should check her out and also see what she wrote about abode . . .

MARKET Premier - SoLo on eleventh!!

time rarely permits me to sniff out cool new shops but one afternoon I screeched on the breaks when I saw an interesting sign SoLo on eleventh. They were just barely opening and if had three words to describe them I would say "drenched in color".  This is a shop filled with eye candy - I need 6 more arms to pick up everything I love here.  Come and welcome them to our MARKET!!! (PS they design as well!)

remember that time when you painted your lips (and teeth and fingers) with your mamma's raving red lipstick?  The one that came in a gold tube that you had to push the waxy red goodness that smelled like powder up with a lever.  Remember looking at yourself in the tiny compact mirror, one eye and then the other.  Carefully selecting the right necklace and earrings to wear with your dress ups was an art, not a science . . . don't want those clip ons to pinch too much and if the screw backs were too large for small ear lobes you would put them above the little cartilage ledge for anchor.
